A conference “Creating a Framework for the Sustainability of Youth Programs at Local and National Level” was held in Petrovac from December 23 to 25, 2018 in Petrovac. The conference was organized in cooperation with the Directorate of Youth of the Ministry of Sports and it was initiated through a regional project, The Youth Bank Hub for the Western Balkans and Turkey, implemented in Montenegro bz NGO Prima, thanks to the financial support of the European Union.
The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Sports, the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Science, local self-governments and youth offices, municipal secretariats responsible for the implementation of youth strategies from Podgorica, Bar, Cetinje, Berane, Bijelo Polje, Plav, Šavnik, Plužine, Kotor and Budva, representatives of the RYCO office, as well as representatives of five youth non-governmental organizations.
This was an opportunity to further promote the Youth Participation Index and present the results of the 2017 indicator monitoring. Also, it was talked about the current results of youth policies at the local level, i.e. on working on local strategies and action plans, establishing youth clubs and projects for young people; then on a dialogue with young people in order to provide greater and more adequate participation. The new proposal of Law for Youth, its advantages and non-resignations from the point of view of local self-governments has been analyzed. And in the end we saw opportunities for networking and the possibility of planning joint projects.
For thsi ocasion we translated Third Monitoring Report about political, Economic and Social Participation of Youth in 2017. to Montenegrin language and printed it in 500 copies, to be distributed to all national and local stakeholders in Montenegro.
